We’ve just wrapped up our participation in ICTON 2025 in Barcelona, where the 25th anniversary edition of the International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks brought together researchers and innovators from around the world.

Representing the project, Georgios Megas (PCRL) presented our latest work on a 16×16 Benes optical switch designed using 3D photonic integration. The goal? Smarter, denser, and more energy-efficient switching for next-gen optical networks.

This was a joint effort with the awesome team from the POETICS project, and it’s always exciting to see this kind of collaboration come to life at events like this.
